Dog Drama and More

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE our sweet, big, brown dog Emmett. And that's lucky for him because he is turning into QUITE the special needs pet. Our sweet Emmett has suffered seizures for a couple of years now. They were infrequent and he bounced right back, no hangover-like effects so the vet was not worried. Vet not worried = us not worried. Well, recently the occurrence of seizures has increased. End of story is Emmett has epilepsy! He is on meds for it now, prescription drugs, a controlled substance so the pharmacy keeps all our information on hand. Emmett's new meds regiment includes eye drops (follow up to the cataract), melatonin (for the seasonal flank alopecia), and now phenobarbital (for the epilepsy). Let's hope that this concludes Emmett's health portion of the blog.

Everyone else in the house is recovered and feeling well. We are back on our normal schedule, thankfully. AND, we have rescheduled our Colorado trip! Day care is closed for Oregon spring break the last week in March so we were going to have take some time off to watch the bug anyways so let's take advantage of it. HOLY COW plane tickets are not cheap but so worth it to get away. The pros are spending time with family, getting to see our friends Courtney, Jon, and their new little girl Harper, and not feeling rushed in and out of the state.

We finally booked our tickets for New York for Sean's graduation in May. What are we, made out of money??!!! JK. This is going to be the quick trip. Fly in Fri, graduate on Sat, fly out Sunday. Sean's Aunt Sharon (Grams + Sharon = Shrams) is going to fly to Portland and watch Liam while we are in NY. HOW LUCKY ARE WE??!! Very! I was harboring SO much stress in thinking about having to bring Liam and now I think I can really enjoy watching my husband receive his Masters. Cornell University, here we come....
