This past week has been full of firsts for Liam..even some firsts for mom and dad too!
Wed morning was Liam's first trial run at daycare. I had the plan to wake at 5:15, feed and change him and hop in the car at 6:00 for a 6:30 drop off. It was a little warm here in Portland that day so I had the fan going that evening. Needless to say, I awoke twice throughout the night to check the time. The third time I checked it read 5:55!! Yikes, the first day and already late! Up I jumped, hair in ponytail, grab jeans from the floor, pull a tshirt from the drawer and hope there are no stains on it. I wake Liam up, he smiles, my heart melts, and off we go.

Made it to Patti's at 6:30 (the traffic gods were smiling on me). Patti is this WONDERUL in home daycare provider that a few friends have used and
highly recommend. We chat, I run through some things with her, her with me. And before I know it I need to leave, like right then and there. I make it almost to the car before the tears start. Thankfully my friend Robin (happens to be a Patti reference) works at the crack of dawn and has done the whole Patti daycare scene. I dial her up, we cry together, and then she talks me off the ledge. I rush home to shower (it had been 2 full days since this body had seen soap)so I can at least look decent for picking up Sean from his return from China.
Sean made it back from China safe and sound. Those pajamas from the previous post are even cuter in person.
So Sean got back on Wed morning and we had SPAMALOT tickets for that evening. Ahhh, the date night :) That means the first babysitter night.

What was I thinking putting the first daycare drop and babysitter on the same day! Well Jill and her sweetie pie daughter Amanda show up, a few minutes early, bless their hearts. I couldn't even go over and kiss my baby good bye because I was afraid of the tears and I knew I did not want date night to include tears. SPAMALOT was SO funny, please go see it if you are a Monty Python fan, the acting and music was excellent.
Friday was another daycare drop and it was still so wierd to leave him. I completely trust Patti but she isn't me. I will not feel guilty for daycare. I do want to work. I know I will have to deal with a little bit of heart break every day I leave him. At least she is close to my work so my plan is to visit during my lunch time. I normally eat lunch at my desk anyway so how great is getting to see my little bug half way through my day :)

Liam attended his first MICHIGAN Portland Alum football game on Saturday! Liam was among 124 other fans and alum. We won't mention the final score because it need not mentioning. He was the best baby (of course). He had him in a maze/blue outfit with MICHIGAN booties (thank you Alicia) and his MICHIGAN blanket (thank you Robin). The blanket was a hit with the table sitting behind us. I took a great shot of Sean holding Liam but we can't get the dang thing off my camera...stupid technology. I will post it if we can ever move it.
Tues is my first official day back, please say a prayer for me.
