Wise Little Grasshopper

Sean just came back from China and bought this cute little shirt for Liam. You can see how happy he is to receive his first of many travel gifts. You can see from his hands that he is getting ready for a karate chop!

The Amazing Liam

Prepare to be amazed and astounded by the raw strength of a 14 week old! Yes, our little man has managed to lift his huge brain with his massive neck muscles...and we couldn't be prouder. His laugh is coming along quite nicely now too. I make it my day's goal to get a few good laughs from Baby Taylor, it makes all of his screaming and stubborness of not wanting to fall asleep seem like nothing.

Sean left for China today (insert sad face here). We dropped him at the airport, told him we loved him and off he went. At least this trip is only a week. His return gives me something to look forward to since I will be that much closer to D-Day...Spt 4. No fears though, I have the best girlfriends in the whole wide world. They are rallying around and taking care of me...bringing me food, hands to hold the baby...and wine (but not until after Baby Taylor is down for the night). Oh, and get this, the night Sean gets back we have tickets to Spamalot!! whoot whoot, date night with the husband. I am sure he will be dog tired but he promised and we don't have to stay out late but to be out in public with the husband and not the baby might be a little wierd. Our friend Jill will be his first official, not-a-family-member babysitter. Sean said the only way he would go out is if we knew the person and they were a mom too so Jillsy fit the mold perfectly, plus she agreed to do it. Her daughter Amanda is going to help too so I hope to not be calling every half an hour...maybe just every hour.

It has been 6 weeks since Emmett had his eye surgery and he is perfect! Same dog, like nothing every happened. There is a little jealousy creeping in I have noticed. Always at the morning feeding he wants to be loved on. So there I sit, baby in arm and holding bottle, leaning over the side of the chair so Emmett can lick my face and nibble on my chin. Then time for me to use the other hand to pat his back and scratch his butt. He is so funny with Baby Taylor, when I sit Liam up to burp him he always seems to sneak in a quick lick up the side of Liam's face and then lays down. Liam doesn't cry but he gets the huge saucer eyes and I just have to crack up.

New Tricks!

Liam has some news tricks up his sleeves, or should I say up his onsie? First is his laugh. Not a regular thing yet but when you kiss his belly he will give you a real laugh. I admit, it gets me every time. Who doesn't love a baby laugh. Right now it might be better described as a ha-ha, but it works for me. Then, even bigger then a laugh....he rolls onto his side!! Discovered it one night when I was checking on him in his crib, there he was, sleeping on his right side. Since that night he has become the pro at rolling to the right. It's a pretty fun game to play when he is laying on the floor. Next trick....Liam has discovered his feet. We put the little boots with rattles on him and that is hours of entertainment for me. It is so fun to watch him pull his feet up to look at the rattles (one is a sheep and one is a cow) and then he stretches out, then he pulls his feet up...and you get the point. Watching him reminds me that even some simple things in life can make you happy.

I am absolutely dreading going back to work full time. I am trying to not think about it already but the Spt 4 date is creeping up on me. Please think of me and give me strength on that day. Millions of women do it, and so shall I.

New Friends

We are happy to announce that Liam has made some new friends! At 12 weeks old and already 3 new best friends, 4 total including Emmett. He continues to make some really cute noises and to melt out hearts with his smile. We attended the block party on Sunday and met our newest neighbor, a baby boy named Benjamin. Liam is about 10 weeks older then him so we are predicting they will be running around together at school and on our street. We recently met some just moved in neighbors too. They hail from the Bay area and have 2 young sons, Owen and Finn. With Liam I am thinking we have a mini Irish mafia in the works. They seem very nice and like to drink wine so I am sure we will get along great together. I can't believe summer is almost over! --A
