Saturday Was A Park Kinda Day

There is a park in the area referred to as "The Pirate Park" because one of the play structures resembles a pirate ship. The cool thing about the park is that there is a sand area, a couple of play structures, and the ground is spongy. The challenge of the day was actually getting them to look at me when I took their picture, and as you will see, I failed miserably.

My persistence pays off!!!

Little Man is Offically 4 Years Old!

Where does the time go?!

We surprised him at home with a Happy Birthday banner, balloons, and a table full of presents.

I think it was just as much fun for us as it was for him.

He opened all the gifts from his grandparents and aunts/uncles/cousins. Everyone was SO generous and the gifts were great. He is actually really wonderful about sharing them with Little Miss too.

We then set up for a Mexican feast at the Birthday Boy's request. We had over Little Man's best bud, Ava, and her parents. Audrey is expecting and they found out they are having another girl so Little Man is WAY out numbered now, 3-1 between Ava, Little Miss and the soon-to-be Brislin. The boy is going to have some moves when he gets older.

Before we got a chance to pull out the cake the Little Man and his accomplice had spotted the present from his Mom and Dad, opened it in the dining room and he was so excited he came running into the kitchen to show us! "Look at the big BuzzLightYear! Look at the big BuzzLightYear!" The surprise was for him but it ended up being on us. Oh well, he loved it and it made us all laugh.


You can't really tell but there are 4 candles on the top of the Birthday Hat.
Just wait Little Miss, you will get your chance to wear that too!

The kids loved the Thomas themed cake, especially the toys on top and the frosting and the fudge inside.

I Have Been Remiss in Keeping Up My Blogging Duties

It has been, self admittedly, too long since the last post. So, let's jump in....

Little Miss update:
Favorite words as of now are doggie, kitty, Dada, and when you hand her something she makes 2 noises like she is saying Thank You.
Favorite books: Are You My Mother?, Blue Hat, Green Hat, Opposites
She eats everything! Broccoli is a fan favorite.
When she points at something and you pick it up, she claps like she is congratulating you for guessing correctly, cracks me up every time.

Little Man update:
Favorite Books: The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, Giraffes Can't Dance
He is signed up for Micro mini soccer and an All Sports class this summer
Still obsessed with everything Toy Story and Cars
And refuses to stay in bed at night, we are working on this one.

We took Liam bowling on a rainy day. He almost beat his Daddy!

Parent's 50th wedding anniversary. Sean and I hopped a flight back to MI while Gigi and Doodle (Sean's Mom and Aunt) watched the kiddos for us.
