A Day With Thomas

Traveling along the gorge, through the misty mountain trails and the never-ending waterfalls, we finally found the island of Sodor (aka Hood River). It was here that we met Thomas the Train and took a ride through the forest in his car #2. After the ride was over, Liam found his play village to be most enjoyable.

Multnomah Falls

With the weather forecast up in the air, we decided to hedge our bets and take Liam to the famous Multnomah Falls, rain or shine you still get wet. The falls are adjacent to the Columbia Gorge.




This also gave Liam the chance to show off his cute little rain jacket.

First Day of Summer

Yes, tomorrow is the first day of summer. Since the summer solstice is upon us (finally), I thought I would put together a little montage of our favorite moments last summer. I just got my hands on a video editor so expect many more little vignettes in the near future.

Zoo Keeper Willy

Sunday was father and son day at the Taylor house. I took the lad to the zoo to break in our new season pass. We were both very impressed with the Northwest exhibit which you can see as you walk through the gates. It houses plants and animals found in the northwest as well as providing education on local wildlife and sustainability practices. We saw mountain lions, black bears, salmon and bald eagles. The eagles were majestic but looked a little confused as you could tell they "sensed" salmon nearby but just couldn't figure out how to find them. After that exhibit we hit the classics.

Family Tree

In an attempt to drum up more gifts for my birthday and Christmas, I have decided to actually learn my grandparents' names. I feel it would add a nice personal touch and bring a certain warmth to the cockles of their hearts.
