Tiny Dancer
Little Miss had her final dance class last weekend. She picked out her outfit, she hadn't missed a single class and received a VERY pink certificate of completion. Munchkin Sports is her next endeavor and starts in a couple weeks.
Brushing Teeth Doesn't Have to be Boring
Not when you can brush your teeth and dance at the same time!

Holy Wow!
The 4YO is having the meltdown of all meltdowns!!! While Sean deals with that I can post a little update.
Little Man (the above mentioned 4YO) had his assessment at St Pius School last weekend. He has not been excited about school...at all...not in the least. He had informed us on several occasions that he was not going to go. So imagine my stress when the school calls to schedule THE ASSESSMENT! du-du-dummmmmmmm.
All 3 kindergarten teachers, about 25 kids, and 45 minutes. The prep work started 2 weeks before the assessment (TA). We read books about Kindergarten, we talked to other kids that go to Kindergarten and none of it worked. I finally sat him down and told him that they will read a story, talk about the story and break into groups to play Legos and blocks. He actually seemed OK with that. The day of TA comes and into the van we jump. We pull into the parking lot and from the backseat comes, "I really don't want to go to school Mom." I get out, trying to keep my stress and anxiety buried below a level that he can not reach and ask him about it. FINALLY it comes out! "I'm scared". I got this covered, I can handle that. We talk, he takes my hand, in we go. All the parents and kiddos are gathered in the entry. Once the Principal stands up to speak he attaches himself to my leg. Arms wrapped and locked. The goal is to line the kids up and walk into the room, kids only. Unless my leg was going, that kid was not budging. One of the teachers comes over to talk to Little Man, gives me the "get the heck outta here" look and I disappear behind 2 other parents. I head for the door and hear a little boy screaming and crying, cock my head, tune in, nope - not mine! and out I go. Man I felt bad for that dad. I have 45 minutes to kill so what do I do? Alone, not a single kid with me? I call my Mom and cry a bit and then drive over to the library to get books....for the kids of course. I figure a couple Star Wars books will help perk him up when he gets done. Rush back to school and wait. Out he comes, running to give me a gigantic hug! I am SO proud at this point that my head is going to explode. It doesn't so instead I hold back the tears welling in my eyes. The teacher comes over and explains that he was quite shy during the story but when they started to play he warmed up and was fine. I knew it, I knew it, I knew it! But still sometimes you wonder.
So very glad that is over and done with!
PS- he now asks, approximately every other day, "when do I go to school Mom?" It's like music to my ears.
